CPT 4 Roadmap

As I just announced, work on CPT 4 is going on. I take this attempt - to finally finish CPT 4 – very serious. That’s why I have started to work on a project plan. To challenge myself I have decided to post a roadmap. At the same time I want to give all loyal CPT users insights of the development process as you have waited already for a long time. Thanks for your patient!

CPT 4 Roadmap

  • 2009/09/19 Official Continuation of CPT 4 Development
  • 2009/12/14 CTP (community technical preview version) Release
  • 2010/03/08 Beta Version Release
  • 2010/04/19 Final Release

In a future post I will clarify which features you can expect in the final version. It became obvious to me that I have to cut-down the feature list of CPT 4 to finally get it out.  CPT 4 is basically a complete re-engineering of CPT 3.3. Once this new system is working it should be much easier to add new features.

The CTP version of CPT 4 will feature the repertoire management, not the training module yet.

Of course this roadmap is not written in stone. It’s difficult to predict timelines especially for a hobby project. However, I take the milestones very serious.

If you don’t want to miss any news about the development process join my Chess Position Trainer Tweet or become a fan of Chess Position Trainer on Facebook !

Hope to see you soon!

Thanks,

Stefan

This is absolutely fantastic and long awaited news! Now is the time to finish your beauty of a chess program that the many chess (and new and old CPT) fans across the globe have long awaited for. I would absolutely beta test for you if need be. If so, just tell me and I'll send you my e-mail.
