Well you create a folder somewhere on the disk (I created it in the same folder as the program), then unzip the file on this page in that folder. The use the "Load" function and go to the folder where you saved the unzipped files.

@Bill: You have to download and install Chess Position Trainer. Then launch the program and load the repertoire with the CPT.

how can i load the example repertoiresssss!!! argh...when i load all i see is standard.xmr file but the .xmp .xmc.xsp i cannot load with the CPT!

CPT let you only open repertoire files. You don't have to care for the others. When you load standard.xmr all belonging sub-repertoires are automatically loaded too. If you download another free repertoire from the download centre it works the same.

Excellent programm, congratulations! At first one might think you can do the same with ChessBase´s trees, but it´s not the same, many of the useful functions CPT has, are not available in CB9, so keep up the good work!

It's a excellent program for building Repertoires and training the openings. I like it very much. although I have Fritz 10 and Chessmaster 10, I use CPT as the opening tool. I have a small question. How do I change the Sub-repertoire name?

Either use the short-cut CTLR+I or go to the menu "Sub-Repertoires->Properties" to change the name of a sub-repertiore.

Sure, the repertoires you can download for free have been made available to make it easier for new users to get quickly started with CPT. The whole idea of CPT is that the user creates his own repertoire. Please have a look at manual.

The files only work with CPT. You have to run CPT and the load the files within CPT.

In the line 1. e4 e5 2. Bc4 Nc6 3. Nc3 Bc5 4. Qg5 Qf6 5. Nd5 Qxf2+ 6. Kd1 g6 is 7. Nxc7+ not the better move instead of Nh3

I downloaded the standard repertoire but why it when I try to load it with CPT it does not appear?

i downloaded the standard repertoire into a folder and went to CPT and pressed load. Then i searched for standard.xmr but it was not there? Why is that? I cannot load it into CPT.

How do you unzip the file?

it works, when you open the file, just look on the left, it asks you ifyoud like to extrat all..click there the open the trainer from desktop, click load and go to where you saved the file....viola

what is the registeration code

I cannot open any repetoires from this site. The computer tells me too browse the program that created it. I go to the MS website and it tells me the file is unknown. I am about to uninstall it. I am not computer savy enough to make this work.

Hi everybody. I want to say this software is the most useful for everybody want to memorize somthing in chess. I suggest it to the players who waste their time by playing Blitz over the internet. Hellow Stefan,Rony from India....Just Downloaded CPT,and what can I say,a truely amazing programme for me to manage and build my reportrie,I want to be a GM,and it includes a lot of heavy work.....and CPT has done the half work for me......in a 2700 level play,we can see that Anand,Kramnik....or carlsen is better than other only for their opening.....because middlegame comes after opening and endgame after it.....so opening is the first stage to build. Keep up good work and thanks again for this great programme Stefan......and wish U best of luck all of U and ur girlfriend and your team. I need help... I downloaded the CPT and the repertoire, but I am unable to open any off the files. The repertoire download is supposed to have the basic opening such as Ruy Lopez, Caro Kahn, etc.. right? I can't get the program to work. I do not know how to open it, or Load it....
