After creating a position label at a position whose previous move was NOT a multiple candidate move or a transposed move, the move list is reset to Zero (as mentioned in the manual).
This makes it hard to jump to the labeled position and simply press the back button to see what lead to this position. Since no moves are numbered now and the position tree is not highlighted, we have no idea where in the move order we are at (I have long move orders), unless the position label includes the original move number.
Based on this problem and the current given explanation (found in the demo manual) there seems to be a need for a Branch list tab (with branches listed at move numbers)
.
Example based on demo: Let's say I'm following the Alekhine repertoire and before any branch occurs I create a position label. Later, how can I tell which move occured just prior to the position? I now have to run thru the repertoire moves until I visually recognize the position "just prior" to the labeled position.
I understand the concept of and possibility of transpositions, but in this case, I entered the repertoire as an ordered number of moves (one move after another in linear fashion) and expect to find the numbered move just prior to the position label.
Perhaps it's better, for my usage, to use the Candidate move comment field for comments like: "Here, my opponent Bob, looked very concerned".
